Actions against overpopulation

Not everywhere in the world is over populated, it is mainly focused in the large cities like  Tokyo (Japan), Shanghai (China), New york (USA), Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), or seoul (Korea) to just list a few.

To control the population people need to focus on the birthrates, because of high birthrates the population is also high.

Support women and empower them to give them more knowledge so that they don't remain a "housewife" status who's role is to bear and raise children and also how women don't necessarily have to be married to be happy. Knowledge also includes the different types of contraception and make them available to all parts of the world societies.

The Government can assist with the keeping down the population numbers by:

Adopting the churches practice of family planning. Because the church doesn't approve of abortions, they strongly advise family planing. Family planing involves 'planning' before hand if a couple want to have children, if they are able to support a child and any other implications that come along with having children. With this then there won't have to be any unnecessary abortions/pregnancies.

Limit the number of children in a family, like china's one child policy. This law covers only china's large cities and rural areas are not subjected to this law. This law is effective as it has reduced the population growth in the country by approximately 300 million in it's first twenty years.

(Even though this method is effective it has caused problems like forced abortions for women who break this law and in turn many riots.)

  1. I agree with what you said about there being a need for more of an awareness about contraception in all types of societies because the role of women has changed alot!

  2. Sorry getting a bit confused here, I understand your perspective on contraception, but are we talking about overpopulation or womens rights? ... and how does it/if it does, fit into the discussion?

    1. What I intended to imply was that a cotributor to overpopulation is women lacking birth control. the lack of control in turn increases to population numbers.

I made a few changes, hope it clears out some of the confusion.

  3. Japan is facing similar situations, except their birthrates are declining, because more women rather keep their jobs than become a house wife and they rather marry late and not have children at all. But ya, China should really change their one child policy.

    1. Yes,
The people are punishing the breakers of this law wa~y to seriously without regards to human rights at all. It was made for a good purpose but has it's flaws.

      Thank you.
