Conclusion

To conclude, overpoulation is only found in certain cities, but it the 3rd world countries overpopulation has caused people lose some of their basic needs. There must be action taken to slow overpopulation down but action needs to be taken as a country not as an individual. Overpopulation will lead to many problems for the future generation of our near future and certainly not a small problem.

Space and Quality of life as a result of overpopulation

Overpopulation affect everything around us. Air, land, sea, and economy.

Overpopulation lacks space to accomodate it's people, this might mean expanding a city's area. People need space to live, factories, agriculture, need space to be able to produce peoples need, and animal will need their over natural habitat. The world will never cease to have an obsession with space, whether it's too much or too less.

With many people living in packed area such as a metropolitan city or a slum, people will find that there is a large portioned of people who are unemployed. A Guardian News article 'The concern over populated explosion' says that the CIA World Fact book estimates Nigeria’s population to be more than 170million as at July 2012. Nigeria has the potential to produce things like rice and palm oils but instead imports them from other coutries. This lack of development makes it hard to support it's own coutry which is teeming with unemployed  people.

Though better hygiene is supposed to be a supporting factor for overpopulation is not the case in all countries. Once again in 3rd worl d countries it is overpopulation fault in the lack of hygiene and medical treatment, but in slums

In urban living enviroment, there is bound to be pollution. Because there are many people in a populated it means that consumables are also needed causing large factories to be built and these factories have a big part in contributing to air pollution.

Actions against overpopulation

Not everywhere in the world is over populated, it is mainly focused in the large cities like  Tokyo (Japan), Shanghai (China), New york (USA), Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), or seoul (Korea) to just list a few.

To control the population people need to focus on the birthrates, because of high birthrates the population is also high.

Support women and empower them to give them more knowledge so that they don't remain a "housewife" status who's role is to bear and raise children and also how women don't necessarily have to be married to be happy. Knowledge also includes the different types of contraception and make them available to all parts of the world societies.

The Government can assist with the keeping down the population numbers by:

Adopting the churches practice of family planning. Because the church doesn't approve of abortions, they strongly advise family planing. Family planing involves 'planning' before hand if a couple want to have children, if they are able to support a child and any other implications that come along with having children. With this then there won't have to be any unnecessary abortions/pregnancies.

Limit the number of children in a family, like china's one child policy. This law covers only china's large cities and rural areas are not subjected to this law. This law is effective as it has reduced the population growth in the country by approximately 300 million in it's first twenty years.

(Even though this method is effective it has caused problems like forced abortions for women who break this law and in turn many riots.)

Depletion of Resources as a result of overpopulation

Humans need the basics to live but in this day and age it's not that simple. The crazy speed in which people use things makes it impossible for mother nature to keep up.

Our resources are split into two categories. Renewable and Natural resources. Renewable resource being things people can produce more of, such ands pine forests. Natural is exactly opposite and if continually used, it will eventually run out.

Many people take everyday things for granted, things such as water, which many people in developed countries take for granted, in places such as Africa, clean water is scarce and many will drink dirty water as a substitute. Small habits in our daily lives can help save this precious resource for the future generations.

In a CNN, 'Overpopulation could be a people, planet problem'  Lawrence Smith quotes "If the water goes, the species goes,"
Ways to wisely use our most precious resouce could be to take showers instead of baths or just not as often and limit yourself in the shower, not to let the tap run while brushing your teeth or to invest in a rain water tank. There are plenty of ways to help save freash water and this is only to name a few.

Food is also a type of resource but slightly different. The world is not close to a food shortage, but in some countries there is, to the availability of the food, say for instance parts of Africa or India. 3rd world countries should produce their own foods as this would help the coutries economy, tackle the problem of unemployment and starvation.

Introduction

The human species have been alive for around 200,000 years or more, each 15 years the population grows by 15 billion.  Overpopulation is when a species population has grown so much that it exceeds the capacity of its enviroment, and in this case it is humans overpopulating earth
Overpopulation is caused by and increase of birth rate and life span and not only do overpopulation affect ourselves but also any life sort form (animals, plants, micro-organisms etc) and our planet.
Overpopulation is mainly centred around urban areas like large cities/metropolitan of a country.
This blog will tackle the issue of overpopulation.  Will we reach a day where our food supply and resources run out or have has it already begun? Humans need resouces in order to continue living, these are categorised as natural and renewable resouces. What will come out of overpopulation and  if the world is really overpopulated, what are the actions taken to slow it down? If overpopulation isn't prevented are we willing to risk the future generation's livelihood and earth?
